Forend Question

Forend Question - 01/29/2004 9:19 PM

Did T/C ever make a forend specifically for a 10" tapered barrel?

The reason I ask is that I just aquired 2 10" tapered barrels. (30 & 357 Herrett's) I have a forend for a 10" bull barrel that works, but it isn't asthetically pleasing.

Kind of the same question for scope bases. I put a Weaver base on them and the barrel tapers away from the base. Does the T/C Duo-ring mount have a smaller foot print than the Weaver base?

I haven't had a chace to shoot either of them yet as Winter still has a pretty firm grip on Michigan. I am guessing that I won't have any problems with the current configuration, but if there is something better out there I would like to look into it.

Not sure about the forend, but I think the old "wedge" shaped forends fit the tapered barrels better that the bull barrel models.

With regard to the Duo Ring mount, it has a much smaller footprint. I just measured a used one that I picked up. It is 1/2" X 2 5/8". The Duo Ring is starting to become my favorite mount. I like the looks, and it is a good solid mount.

Stush,

Thanks for the reply. I am going to give the Duo Ring a try.
