Did you get your DMU stuff in the mail. The DEC is saying that in many areas the deer is at the approriate levels. Give me a break!!!!!

No. I have not got anything in the mail yet. I know the numbers are down around here. Last year was the worst take in years for our valley.

I'm out every week and cover a lot of ground. I just don't see the number of deer from years past.

The turkeys are doing well though. I just wish we could hunt them with a handgun!!

That would be fun. I guess I see alot of deer still. I know winter was tough but the hunter numbers are down here. So it kind of offsets. This year might be better cuz first day is wekk of Thanksgiving.

I guess if they limit the # of deer I can shoot during gun season maybe I will make myself hunt with my bow. Really get involved with my muzzleloader. I will hunt deer

I'm planning on doing the bow thing. I just got back from shooting a 3-D league. It's great practice.

Kyode, the bow is a new challenge for me. In time that will wear off (maybe). It's fun but will never replace my handguns!

Here in NY we only get 3 1/2 weeks of gun season. I know some of you guys in other states have longer seasons. So to extend the season you either bow hunt (5 weeks before gun) or muzzleload and late bow (1 week after gun).

I've been libering up with my bow too. Shot 3D last week. It will never replace handgun hunting but it sure is fun and alot like hh because you have to practice to get good. The only difference is the ammo is reuseable unless of course you fling the arrow into the woods.
