Red Hog - 10/26/2009 3:26 AM

Had a whack em and stackem weekend culling some does and I also got this hog. Of course I missed a whopper hog that would probably go 400lbs. I also converted a new handgun hunter who took two does this weekend and his first ever handgun kills.

How did you train a dead hog to hold his head up so well? I like that color, how common is it? Nice hunting Gary.

It's a 454 Casull and the shot was from about 50 yards. We were hunting on a friends ranch. I have no idea how common this color is the big un that I missed was black.

That is a good one. They are alway fun to shoot - deer do not make the noise that pigs make when you hit them. That sound always brings a smile to my face.

Got to love those wheel guns on the big porkers

Re: Red Hog - 10/28/2009 8:50 AM

Cool hog indeed. Gary, is the revolver in the photo ported?
Posted By: Whitworth

Re: Red Hog - 10/28/2009 11:17 AM

I shot his brother with a .454 as well.......more similarities!

Re: Red Hog - 10/28/2009 1:54 PM

Yes David, that gun is ported. It's not really necessary but that's how it was when I bought it. My 4 3/4 inch gun is non-ported.
