In my humble opinion, there is no better bang for the buck than BFR's offerings. They have a myriad of great calibers including a couple of my favorites like the .475 Linebaugh and the .500 JRH, and I have yet to shoot one that isn't accurate. They are a great buy!
I agree with Whit, no better gun for the money out there. Probly the only 475 Linebaugh revolver you will find for under $900. I own two and have a third coming home soon.

BFR's are good guns,I've had the 475/480 for a couple years now and I'm convinced it is about as good as it gets especially for the price. My gun has amazing accuracy and packs good for a hunter.I do a lot of reloading for this gun and it is tough. They offer fiber optic sights of all hieghts to accommadate any load you may use. BFR offers great holsters for these guns that work with scoped guns also.I want another BFR now and I think it will be the 44mag Shorty they are now offering or the 454. In my opinion if you like hunting revolvers BFR's are hard to beat. They offer guns that Ruger should be selling. On the other hand thats what these guns look and feel like to me is an enhanced quality Ruger anyway.
I have one in 454 and I believe it is a very well built revolver.I started to work up some loads for it but the scope gave out(Weaver 2x). I'm replacing it with a 4x Leupold. As soon as the weather breaks here in York,Pa. I'm going out shooting. The only thing I don't like about it is the price of the Micarta grips. $180.00 is out of the question. I bought a set of Super Blackhawk grips made from Ebony by Hogue. They fit about 95% perfect for about $50.00 and they look great.
I hate to be the lone voice of dissent. I have a BFR 6 1/2 inch 475 that is in my opinion of very poor quality. The scope mount had to be filed in order to fit...the screw holes on it did not line up with the pre-drilled holes on the gun. Te trigger is long, sloppy and gritty. The accuracy is horrible and worst of all their customer service is lacking. They refuse to work on it because I did not send in their warranty card. I sent the post card in shortly after buying it but apparently it never got there. My Smith and Wesson 500 and 460 are much better accuracy wise. I purchased mine because of all the good I heard about them. I must have gotten the rare lemon.

I'm sorry to hear that you've gotten a lemmon and are not getting the customer service you deserve. That said, every manufacturer turns out a lemon every now and again -- unfortunately. A friend of mine had a Freedom 83 in .357 magnum that wouldn't shoot well at point blank range no matter what was done. This no way reflects on he quality of all FA revolvers. Sorry they are not taking care of you adequately.

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about that JLB-MT. I can deal with the chances of getting a lemon from a reputable company, but I am yet to hear a good excuse for poor customer service (probably because there isn't one). what was the outcome of all that?
i would have to agree with others on the post, my bfr in 475 was extremly smooth and accuarate, i to had to file the scope base down to get it to fit properly i think they told me that in the manual i would recomend them to anyone very well built wheel gun as far as the customer service that is complete BS as stated above Ron
