I would like to have a Bisley Hunter converted to a 5-holer in .480 Ruger with a 5-1/2" barrel, done by our own wapitrod.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 2:24 PM

My next, although I have many dreams, would be a FA 97 in 22lr/22mag, 7 1/2" barrel, white micarta grips and topped with a 2.5x8 leuy. This would make for some good squirrel medicine.

I've been contemplating A Lone Eagle Or T/C...since we are dreaming chambered in 50bmg...

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 3:05 PM

you gotta dream on something possible! 50 bmg ain't even in the ballpark.

at the moment....a ss(even blued one might suffice) lipseys ruger blackhawk 44 special in 4 5/8".

i'd like to do a small amount of rework to my xp 7br at some point.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 3:21 PM

In revolvers, just a nice custom 44Mag or 45 LC.
It would be scoped. 6 to 7 inch barrel

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 4:41 PM

How about a Glock 1911? (just kidding)... How about a Ruger 4" Redhawk, 5 shooter, in .454? That would be too cool.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 4:49 PM

From a practial standpoint, my next "dream gun" will either be one of my 4.5" BHs converted to 480 Ruger, or another 480 SRH shortened to 3.5" like the one in the 6th post in this link.
http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/showthread.php/62292-Handgun-Pictures!

I just want plain working gun I can carry on the bely & forget it's there.
I have nothing against the .475 Linebaugh, but since from what I've read Mr Linebaugh & son both run their pet 475s at velocities less that I am getting with way sub max 480 Ruger loads (400gr @ 1150 in a 7.5" barrel) the 480 cartridge should continue to serve me well.

From a non-practical standpoint I love some of the S&W custom shop 29s & 629s. Hm,,, if I could get them chambered in a 5 shot 480...

Rear or center-grip?
What would a reasonable price be?

I would like a .44 mag from Freedom Arms.

I would prefer a center grip. Under $1000 would be reasonable.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 8:31 PM

My next "dream" revolver is a .500 Max built by Jack Huntington with a 6.5-inch barrel, and a Bisley grip frame.

Honestly, I doubt if that will ever happen.
You can get a MOA for around that cost though.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 9:51 PM

A FA 44 Magnum. But would be good with a SBH 44 Magnum 7.5 inch with a 4x scope.
Posted By: 460Encore

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/23/2010 10:43 PM

I second that FA in 454 Casull with a 7.5 inch barrel and a four power scope.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/24/2010 1:46 PM

I've been eyeballing a Bisley Hunter in 44 mag. for a while now. And its actually obtainable. So I don't know if that qualifies as dream gun. Growing up as a teenager my dream gun always was a Colt Python 357 mag. SS 6'' bbl. These guns that are still avalible and in good shape go for a pretty penny.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/24/2010 1:56 PM

I don't have specific numbers in front of me, but since there are no factory bolt rigs being made (except maybe Weatherby and Blaser-Both expensive), I just don't see a economical bolt rig being made since we are such a niche group. I know of several that have spoken about this this and, if it ever does happen it would really be more of a semi-custom/custom level.
With that in mind, I am guessing that 1,000 - 1,400 would be a ballpark, leaning toward the higher side of those numbers.
I may be off base here, but those are my thoughts.

A Nimrod in .45Colt by Bowen Classic Arms. I have the base gun in .44Mag already. Just waiting to get in the mood to send it off. I have several other guns from him and they are great.

Maybe a .309JDJ from SSK, too, although that doesn't quite qualify as a "gun".

Probably an x frame from the performance center, chambered in 460.

Freedom Arms model 97 Premier grade in 22/327 with a 10" octagon barrel, scope mount, 2~8 Leupolds scope, macarta grips and a nice shoulder rig for it.

Re: your next dream gun. - 10/25/2010 1:40 PM

Limiting it to just handguns...

I'll go with a 6" octagonal-barreled FA PG 83 - can't decide between 44, 45LC or 475 Lin. So since we're dreamin'...

Not sure if its a dream gun but have wanted a bisley frame Blackhawk for some time.
44 mag on its way and hopefully be here by Thursday
Ragged hole blade on its way
Like to have a fiber optic fron sight installed but not sure if I can get it done before deer season.
May have to go with some flo paint on the front sight

Exactly! Let's add action jobs, consecutive serials, fiber optic fronts (or maybe brass beads).

Now I need to get back to work to pay for my dreams!

Well, I can help some with the delimna....They don't build just a 45 Colt anymore unless you buy an extra cylinder with the 454 so that helps out some right
\:\)

I really like the 97 in 22 and I would like one in 22/327, and 44 special but for some reason, they want money in return so I guess I'll have to wait a little while

Dream revision - Bob Baker decides to make me a 6" barreled Octagonal Mod 83 in LC, because of my dedication and brand loyalty to FA. Hmmm, perhaps too delusional. I'll settle for a 5.5" octagonal barreled Mod 97 in .45 LC.

Re: your next dream gun. - 11/06/2010 10:30 AM

Not so much a dream gun as my next project. I've been talking to my reamer supplier and he got in contact with FA for me after I sent him an email. I had been debating on which true .500 caliber gun I wanted to build since the reloading options for the 500 Linebaugh are very limited so I was trying to decide between the 500S&W special the 500JRH and the 500WE and in the end I decided the primary .500 cal I would chamber for would be the WE. I received a message back from Dave Manson saying he had spoke to FA and they said they would sell me the reamer directly after making sure it was to their standards. I've sent a message to Bob Baker and I'm waiting to hear back but it looks promising so back to the original question my next gun will be a 5 shot Ruger in 500WE and will probably sport an 8-9 inch barrel. The next one I build though will probably be a 357Max Blackhawk re chambered to 500S&W or Max.

My next gun would need to be a .308 Encore. I need a longer range gun for Hogs n Deer but mostly hogs. I have a G2 30-30 now I just want a bit more killing range for pigs.

And here I thought I was being helpful and making the choice easier
\:\)
The 6" octagons are REALLY nice. They are about the best handling of all of them in my opinion. In the 97, I really like the 4.25" barrels. They are just about perfect! I will try not to crush anymore dreams
