I scratched a itch today,,,,

I had a itch to try the the Ruger Bisley well today I found one now Im waiting for it to be delivered. I dont really know much about the differences between the BH and the Bisley but from what Ive heard the Bisley is a step up. I actually put my customized BH on the market for trade but decided to buy the Bisley out right (which was a nightmare). With 2 weeks of searching I found one for $550 now I can find out for myself what the differences are between the two. I cant wait!

X 2. You can't ever tell what someone else would like but if I was a betting man I'd bet you'll love the bisley and your bh will play second fiddle.

With stiff loads my SBHH Bisley is great. No sore hand syndrome.
I still have my plough handles too.

Let us know which one you like better.I personally love the bisley. I shot the blackhawk for 30 years and have switched to the bisley as its more comfortable. And old age is all about being comfortable!

Dang, wish I had known. I am seriously contemplating letting my .44 Bisley go due to a wrist injury. I think you'll like the Bisley grip though. I have shot a .357 in plow handle and .44 in Bisley. I like the Bisley better.

I had my customized BHH on the market for about 2 weeks trying to sell or trade it for a Bisley then I found this one for 550.

I got my Ruger Bisley on the mail today and off to the range I went.Shooting them side by side there was no real difference and thats because of the work I had done on my BHH. But I did notice the bisley was more accurate than I thought.The recoil was more like shooting my Encore or Tender and I also noticed I like rubber grips better than wood grips.

I also realized that if Im gonna use optics to go with a red dot instead of a scope. I like the looks of my BHH with a scope on it but its God aweful heavy. Making off hand groups look like you have a servere medical condition.

Now to find some rubber grips for the Bisley, any rubber fabricaters out there?

If you would have had the original wood grips on your hogleg you would have seen a difference. Not sure about rubber Bisley grips, I have never cared for them. Nice piece and good shootin'.

I hear what your saying about the wood grips to be honest I noticed that differnce. The BH rolls back, the Bisley moreless comes back at you. Actually my next trip out I will put everything back to original minus the break. As for the rubber grips I thinking they are not availiable any where, I called Packy and Hogue , no luck.

Got a question, has anyone ever made rubber grips for their revolver ? Ive looked hi and low for some rubber grips for my Bisley and no one has them so Im thinking of making a set . So now Im in the tinkering mode.

I think one difficulty might be attaching them unless the rubber is rather hard, which sort of negates the value of the rubber. I think the "rubber" plow handle grips actually surround the whole grip frame don't they?

From what I understand from custom grip makers, the frames are not consistent at all, so getting a production set that fits, even in wood is next to impossible.

A lot of people just use a shooting glove instead.

Yeah thats what I was thinking before I actually put the bisley threw its pases.
After putting a few more rounds thew it and my BH side by side Ive decided to put the Bisley back on the market. Its a sweet shooter but the trigger guard and frame are too close together for my fat sausages. Even with a glove it still racks my middle finger pretty good everytime I drop the hammer. So much for that itch!

I have both Blackhawks and Bisley's and both bash my knuckles.
The fix is grips with a filler behind the trigger guard. Pachmayr or Hogues for the BlackHawk, and grips I made or Eagle grips for the Bisley as no one makes rubber that I am aware of.
The Eagle grips do require fitting as Bisley frames don't seem to be consistant in size and shape.Pictures on bragging board of my Bisley with Eagle grips and my own version instaled.They take the bite out really well and are LOTTTTTT'S easier on big hands.

Those grips look nice not too mention your knuckles will live to see another day.
