There will always be room for another .45 Colt article. If it's anything like his book it's a winner. reflex264

Thank you! I was asked to write a counter to an article espousing the virtues of the .357 Magnum as a deer cartridge. I naturally lean towards the venerable .45 Colt.......

Something this world is full of, politics… LOL

Do what you can, when you can and remember when to bow out.

My problem is just like in the book of James, I don’t know when to keep my big mouth shut!

Re: Another "Max' article - 09/21/2012 8:11 PM

it's not that it's even a little bigger, it's a whole lot bigger and in the typical guns ya shoot the 45 colt with moderate loads really doesn't kick more unless it's a FA which the 357 is lighter and the 357 can be run harder and is a very very viable hunting weapon but the 45 colt really doesn't kick harder until ya ramp it up significantly. you made that point nicely. heck, my 15 yo daughter that is 100lbs soaking wet shoots 45 colts just fine, that said she handles moderate 454 loads ok as well with shooting gloves of course, but nice point and made really well. the other guy didn't really give much to think about and it wasn't much of a debate imho.

I liked the article because it reminded me of some in the past. I remember particularly one in the same page/page format with Bob Milek and Ross Seyfried debating single shots and revolvers as handgun hunting tools.

Great Job Max!

Is this article on line somewhere as well? I get about 5 mags already. I don't want to have to get a whole subscription for the one article. I loved Whit's book and would like to read more from him.

American Hunter comes free with your NRA membership.

So does American Rifleman, which is the magazine I get. So, I echo your question about another place to read it.
