common defensive ammo is flying off the shelfs but can still be found, the cost is what really sucks.

you think thats bad try finding a bulk box of 22 lr.

Bulk 223 is about the worse, especially stuff like Wolf and Brown Bear. The other bad ones are 7.62x39, 40S&W, 9MM, 45ACP, 380, and 38spcl. Depending on where your at availability will vary but if you go online the two rifle cartridges I listed are teh worst ones to get. You can still find the pricier brands but the inexpensive stuff is on backorder at the majority of major vendors.

Ya THINK??!!

I live in a small town, and its not to bad here. I can get ammo for everything I own, and reloading supplies as well. I'm pretty well stocked on everything, except for the 45 colt. Gonna have to start storing up some on that one.

Not quite as bad this time I don't think. The LGS sold out of AR15 lowers the day after the election, but have plenty of loading supplies. Feinstein has a nasty plan in mind that could change things tho.

Re: ammo supply?? - 11/26/2012 2:01 AM

We just had a local gun show and ARs plus lowers are in plenty of supply. Not like last time. Even the line wasn't bad throughout the day. No shortage of ammo here. Wally World has been tougher the last four years so when you see it you buy it. Primers have dropped in price six bucks per thousand. Lead is the same. Metals went up due to the Chinese buying alot of supplies on the world market. The Government went into some major contracts that sucked up the bullets and primers a few years ago. Since I reload I just buy it when I need it. No problem. I don't stockpile.

Re: ammo supply?? - 11/26/2012 2:23 AM

There are also more manufacturers of AR's now than there were back then. I don't expect to see what we saw in 08 yet but it will come, especially if bills like Feinsteins make it to the senate. I would bet there will be some type of "assault weapons" ban put back in place I'm just not sure if it will be as radical as hers or not. I can buy plenty of 223 ammo for 7.00-8.00 a box of 20 but try and buy the 500rd case lots that run 120.00-150.00 and you'll hit problems, and you can't reload for that cheap and I wouldn't want to reload for my AK's or AR's.

Daddy Bush pushed more gun laws than Obama. Fear sells more guns than anything. I wish something would happen, i want to see just how tough the gun world can be when pushed.

Buy molds, lead, powder, etc and make your own.
