most supplies backordered - 04/06/2013 2:13 AM

Midway finally e-mailed and my 45mold and 357 taper die are on their way. A month plus to wait. Will this ever end? I guess we have been spoiled, those days maybe over.

I sure hope you are wrong. This isn't fun.

On Monday I have a Powder Valley order showing up. The order was placed on February 28th. Just glad it is here.

My old tumbler is on its last legs so last night I went online to order a replacement. Wrong, most models are out of stock. Had to back order it.

Crazy.

I think you are optimistic. I don't foresee an end until we see a change in Washington.

I agree, it's coming out more and more that the politicians plan to control firearms by controlling ammo and component availability. I actually heard one say as much on fox news yesterday.

That was a joke I haven't been able to buy any 22 since dec. and I'm not paying the price on GB I guess I'll just shoot guns I can reload for the reload stuff is trickling in.

Re: most supplies backordered - 04/07/2013 1:25 PM

some .22 shorts are becoming available, but the same here in Ill. can't find any .22 long rifle anywhere. One former law enforcement officer,Greg Evensen said one of his buddies still in law enforcement-don't remember if he said homeland security or f.b.i. -,but his buddy told him that the U.S. government is buying all the .22 long rifle up and destroying it so citizens can't have it,cause a .22 is what most families have cause of grandpa jones or whoever passing it down,if this is true then I think it really says this anti-gun non-sense is to disarm the citizens as opposed to protecting the children like the obamanator is claiming!

Just got home from a fleamarket. Bought a trunk load of reloading equipment off of a lady. In it was a like new RCBS Sidewinder. Hundreds and hundreds of pieces of good condition brass, unopened powder and primers (newer stock), BIG box of lead .357 bullets, dies, Lyman turret press, scale, measurer, trimmer, holders, funnels.....and on and on. Won't even mention the price. I'll say it was WELL less than just what the Sidewinder alone cost.

She would not part the box out.....wanted to sell it all together and no one wanted to lay out the cash. She wanted $500 and I got it for $350. After I bought it some guys followed me to the car and I had a mini-flea market right out of the trunk! Sold a bunch of the stuff I'd never use and got money back in my pocket.

The way I look at it, we that have ammo but won't pay the high prices will have to wait for those who will pay any price because they are completely out and also wait for the second string who have some but not enough to get done with their feeding frenzy. That may take awhile. I think the companies are making it as fast as they can and nobody is buying it to destroy. We need to keep buying american and support the companies here in the homeland.

Some good ole boy died and his wife sold his stash for next to nothing. We should be sad.

Actually almost all powder is made overseas with the majority being in Australia. I think there is one brand still made here but can't remember which one.

He's probably like a lot of us will be down the road. Getting older and has waytoo much stuff or just needed cash.

All the ammo is stocked on the shelves during the day and middle of the week. The working class is working during that time, all the bums are getting the ammo.

my local shop has plenty of primers but they are 79.99 per brick.

Re: most supplies backordered - 04/18/2013 2:13 AM

Heck, I would be just tickled to find a couple pounds of H110 or 296. I can get plenty of primers in the $35 range still.

How long will it be till the ammo makers pull their head out of their ass and stop selling to the government??!! They'll make their money by selling to the public.

Re: most supplies backordered - 04/18/2013 3:51 AM

this is going to get worse before it gets better and you can bet this mess in Boston will be turned against gun owners too, especially since the bombs appear to probably have been black powder although they haven't confirmed that yet.

Re: most supplies backordered - 04/30/2013 2:17 AM

I think after being shut in houses with no way to defend the fort, there will be plenty of Bostonians buying weapons. Legal or not.

Midway has Remington .429" 240 grain jacketed soft point bullets. There were 10 boxes and I just bought 3.

They are still there. I have 600-700 Speer SP 240's on the shelf, so I am not in need. Now 230gr 45 GDHP's I'll jump on.
