Hog feeder

Hog feeder - 06/17/2015 10:19 PM

Here is a roller feeder I built for hogs. I like these better than a regular deer feeder when just targeting hogs, because it helps keep out the deer and coons. 6" pvc with holes in it to let the corn trickle out. Eye bolt with 6' of chain staked at one end. I thought I would share with those who like to hog hunt.
Thanks, J.W.

So it shakes feed out as they nose it around? Genius!

Yep. That pile on the ground was left over from the bag. Only
a few kernels drop out as they root it around. They seem to stick around longer at these cause they have to work for it.

That is a great idea, I really like the innovation. Have you had a lot of luck with this?

Never seen one like that before. Very cool idea!

I didn't come up with the idea but it works great. Sometimes I add a pack of strawberry jello to the corn to help get them started on it.

That looks pretty neat. What size are the holes the corn comes out of?

The holes are 1/2", you can make them bigger to let more corn fall out if you want.

I have several of those I built, another simple way is to dig a hole and put corn in the bottom and then a layer of dirt with jello powder. Just layer it to the top of the ground and that will last a good bit without having to go out and put corn in it every few days
