Simple cast hunting load? - 09/25/2015 2:37 PM
Ok I am going to start reloading one way or another. I really like the idea of having 1 simple load for target, deer and hogs and I really really like the idea of cheap Keith style SWC cast bullets. I have been looking at the Missouri Bullet Co 240 grain Keith SWC's
What is a good combo? My knowledge level and desire are both simple lol all I know right now is I want Keith style bullet going about 1,300-1,400 fps

Check out Montana Bullet works, and Western bullet company. The Western bullet company makes some awsome Keith bullets for around $11/100. They make for a great plinking or hunting bullet. I run them from a 44 Special at modest velocities.
Montana Bullet Works offers a gas checked bullet. Look at Matts Bullets as well. I just ordered 200 from him.

Another vote for Montana Bullet Works. I use the 255gr with gas check and can well in excess of 1400 fps with a 7.5 in Redhawk.
Very accurate and best of all no leading! #429244 .430 This was Dave's suggestion. No complaints.

I have cast the Keith type SWC for many years. I have shot 6 deer with this bullet at out to 75 yards with good results. I have a Ruger 3 screw with a 10.5" bbl, running them out @ 1700 fps. I shot one deer with a Sierra 240 grain HP with the same gun. The mold used is the Lyman 429421.
