Maximum usefull velocity for 500L - 04/29/2018 12:14 PM

I currently have a great ?mild? load for my 500Ls right under 1000fps that will take most anything that walks. I shoot a 440 gr LGNGC made by Reece and they shoot stable and straight using 16gr of HS-6. I would like to work up a reasonable hot load that isn?t dirty, predictable pressure, and at pressures that won?t have adverse effects on the equipment. Any favorites you guys have Shooting a similar weight Bullet? I?m not interested in shooting the hottest load available to impress other or enlarge my junk. Just a load that might give more range or penetration if I ever got lucky to go on a hunt that might require it. (Shooting out of a 5.5? Bisley)

Large pistol magnum primer. I use Federal, take your pick of CCI, WLP, Federal , Rem 2 1/2 etc.
