ON GUNBROKER YOU CAN GET A GOOD DEAL ON MISSOURI BULLET CO. 340gr RNFPFB CAST BULLETS. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH KILL EXPERIENCE AND/OR LOAD INFO FOR THIS BULLET IN 475L AND/OR 480R? I WOULD REALLY LIKE A 1,000 fps LOAD IN A 5 1/2 INCH REVOLVER. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH MY 475 NIMROD AND NOT SURE I WANT TO PLINK WITH 400gr + BULLETS.

I like to practice with the same load I will hunt with. Point of impact changes too much to try and keep up with where to aim. For me there are enough variables with hunting with a handgun than to add different loads/ weight bullets.

I loaded that bullet in my 475L with 11.0 gr. Titegroup and a Federal 210 primer, Starline brass. Average velocity was 1124 fps, a little more than you are looking for, but my extreme spread was 6 fps and my notes show accuracy was "amazing". Sorry but no game taken with that particular bullet. Recoil was very manageable.

I DO NOT NEED A MASTADON LOAD, JUST AN EVERDAY LOAD FOR A BELT GUN THAT OCCASIONALY MIGHT BE USED ON HOGS AND DEER, AND WOULD NOT BE AN ORDEAL TO PRACTICE WITH. 1,000fps - 1,200fps MIGHT BE THE APPROPRIATE VELOCITY RANGE.
