Cheap hunting vehicles?

Yall ever used a mini bike or offroad go cart for hunting? Im curious. I was thinking about using some sort of mini bike like the coleman one or some sort of cheap of road go cart to get to and from the stand. I cant afford a truck or any serious off road vehicle. I cant afford anything over 500. Sad I know, but college budget.

Get a bike very quiet, low maintenance and very easy to transport. Also a lot of wMA's are not ATV friendly u can ride a bike down thru woods off the roads and the established trails - Stealthy to.

A bike is a good way to go,, but your budget is very low. The good bikes that have the real fat tires (they can go through sand even) well those are not cheap New ones are in the 2-3K range.
Now what does not make a lot of sense to me is you're asking about a mini bike or a off road go-Kart and these need to be carried in a truck from home to the Ranch, field, or BLM or WMA area.
But anyway Christmas time is coming and things get put up for sale on Craigslist by folks that need extra cash.

I know a guy that bought a mountain bike at Wal-Mart to use turkey hunting. Works great.

Ubco, a New Zealand company, have developed a 2 wheel drive electric farm bike. Has the role and capabilities of an Ag bike. Runs by two electric motors (one on each wheel). Although designed as a general farm bike it hasn't taken hunters too long to discover the advantages of quiet running.

I believe they have distributors in the US, however may be more expensive than you're looking for.

Amen! REAL hunters walk to their hunting spots. At least us ?old school? fellows do that.
There were no ATVs in the dinosaur days that I grew up in so I do not consider one essential hunting gear where I hunt. I do not mean to offend...to each his own on this subject.

I will say the bike sounds like a good idea if you have trails or logging roads. I have considered giving this a try but I never have.

A bicycle is a good way to go. Might even find one at a goodwill store or similar.

Dittos. You'd be amazed how often game is spooked by motorized vehicles. I almost didn't fill my moose tag this year due to people buzzing all over the area I hunted with their wheelers. Approaching your stand quietly on foot in the dark is the best way to get in and out of your stand.

Now having a vehicle to pack the animal out, is great if possible. But game has been taken for millennia without motorized vehicles

This is what I was thinking. When I was collage age, (never had time fer collage, to busy shooting and hunting with my handguns) but I would have never dreamed of taking up another sport such as offloading when it was time to hunt!

It was boots on the ground except a couple times we road horseback to base camp, but them horses were rested fer the ride out, and daily hunting and scouting from there was on foot.

Sad that today what I see hunting becoming, wish I had been born 50 years earlier!

My advice would be, fer well under 500 bills a good set of Danners, and an descent pack, then start enjoying the hunt while your young enough you can, then thank me when get older, the memories will be much more rewarding! JMHO

Yep agree. Unless I have a specific need for a vehicle at my lease, I hike in and out to my blind every hunt. The walk is one of my favorite times in the woods.
