Brake for my CVA Scout 6.5 Creedmoor - 11/24/2019 8:38 PM

Please educate me on brakes for single shot pistols. I have a CVA Scout 6.5 Creedmoor that I think I want to get a brake for. I would like to keep the cost under $100 it do not want to waste money on something I will not be happy with or have to spend more money to get it installed. Help please.

One of the most important considerations is the thread pitch at the muzzle, I believe it is: 5/8"x24; however, please verify.
Second, consider the port pattern. Radial brakes work great; however, the don't work well if shooting from prone - kicks up a bunch of dirt and debris, 45' horizontal ports work well for recoil attenuation; but, are hell for shooters to your sides. Apical (top) ports are important for recoil attenuation also; however, in single shot firearms, in hunting situations, not essential for recoil attenuation, unless you wish to visualize shot hit and placement (depends upon caliber and distance to target.
This is a brake that I use extensively, on many of my guns, including on my CVA Scout V2 in 6.5 Creedmoor:

Hope this helps,

Redhawk....If something happens with the brake you ordered or if it doesn't suit your needs. I have a no gunsmith APA Little Bastard on my CVA Scout in 6.5CM and it works great! I think I paid $120.00 for mine. I got mine while they were having a sale. That's a little more than you said you wanted to pay but its easy to install and easy to remove if you find don't like it. It's loud but most brakes are but if hunting it shouldn't be a problem.

I believe that you will like the muzzle brake.

I have a lone Radial on my 260 Rem barrel.
I have 3 and 4 gill brakes on all my other centerfire barrels except my 223 Encore barrel. I even put brakes on my 357 Maximum barrels to cut down recoil for the wife. I wish I had started using them sooner, they really help with recoil.
