Ruger SBH Hunter Bisley Grip Conversion

Ruger SBH Hunter Bisley Grip Conversion - 03/17/2020 1:05 PM

Has anyone done a grip conversion from plow to bisley? I'm thinking of doing it on my .41 mag. After reading up on it, I definitely think I can do it no problem, but wanted to hear from some of you.

The other option is to sell or trade mine for a bisley model. But, I've honed this gun into near perfection and would hate to give it up.

Not sure what the grip conversion entails, but when I was asking about changing up the grips on a SBH, someone pointed me to new grip frames.

here's the thread

Sounds good. Thank you both for responding so far. It looks like the parts would be about $200, so it really comes down to whether or not I want to do the work myself or give up this gun, take a little loss, and then buy a bisley model.

I agree with REY,,, Doesn't take much to make the change in grips, hammer and or trigger if you want. Also my friend Fermin Garza is making some new Bisley hammers and the old three screw style triggers.

Ronnie has got about 30 choices on Grip frames also. If you have any problems with knuckle busting,,,, You now have a choice instead of just going with a Ruger Bisley. Get with me and lets get you started on thinking out this plan.

X2
If it shoots with grips you don't like, I think it would only get better with grips you like.

Agree with the if it shoots convert it group. I?ve converted two, one SS and one CM.
While the Wells grip frame are a touch more expensive, they offer a wider selection of choices. There are a couple I?m tempted to buy myself just to hang on to in case a project shows up.
