Good speed loader for Ruger Sp101 8-shot 22LR? - 07/27/2020 10:09 PM

I like squirrel hunting with my SP-101 .22LR, but trying to figure out a better way to carry ammo and load quickly. I know there are some different speed loaders out there, but they are expensive for this model. I also looked at some QuickStrips...I've not used those, so didn't know if that would be a good option. Any experience would be appreciated.

Anyone use Quickstrips?

I use Quickstrips with my single six and like them a lot. Ten spare rounds per strip that fit in your shirt pocket. The rounds were a little hard to load in the strips at first, but they loosened up.

I was wondering how they would work with single action as well. Thanks for sharing.

I use 5-star Speedloaders for my 460 S&W magnum and my 500 S&W magnum. They have a full line and I recommend them as my next purchase on-line will be for my 10-round Ruger GP100 22 LR and L, S and 22 shotshell capable revolver. Rugged and reliable.

The whole purpose of hunting with a revolver removes speed loading from the equation.

I carry my .22 ammo in one of these, if I have three or four spent cartridges in the cylinder I just wait for a lull in the action and pop a few out and reload.
