The Handgunner's Get Together 2022

The Handgunners Get Together is scheduled for 25 September 2022 at the Big Piney Sportsman's Club located near Houston Missouri. Bring something to shoot, we will have Targets and Steel out to 600 yards. Have something to sell or trade bring it with you. This is a totally informal event. You might want to bring a lawn chair. We have Rest Rooms in the Club House along with Cold Drinks and Snacks. So far everyone who attended last years Get Together is planning on being at this one. Most everyone shows up early in the morning.

The Big Piney Sportsman's Club is located halfway between Houston and Raymondville Missouri on B Highway. The physical address is 18012 Highway B. Coming from Houston the Club will be on the Right side of the road. Look for the Timber Frame Sign.

Sounds like a fun time.

Last year we had some rifle shooters on the line that we let shoot our gear. Before long with a little help we had them shooting smaller groups with a handgun than they were shooting with their rifles. It makes you smile to see someone who has never shot a Specialty Pistol hitting Steel at 600 yards pretty much from the start. Great Gear makes a difference.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year.

I'm planning on attending again. I've decided to trade or sell my Smith 686 and move to either a Contender or Encore platform. I just need to fondle a few to help me decide.

We are getting close. We are down to TWO Weeks until the Hand Gunners Get Together.
I have a New To Me 223 Remington Super 14 barrel to work with.
I need to load ammunition for my Nosler M48 in 22 Nosler. I have been dragging my feet hoping Lee would get my Case Trimmer Delivered. I guess I could get into my stash of NEW Brass.

I Hope to see everyone from last year, along with some new faces.

Well, I will not be coming. I just kept playing with my 686 and this morning I managed a 1/2" group from 50 yards. I was shooting a Hornady 158gr. XTP over 14.0gr. of Alliant 2400 powder shooting from a tripod rest. I think I will stay with this handgun but my heart is still wanting a Contender handgun, I have two carbines (.22lr and .223 Rem.) and another frame that may become a .357 Maximum. I'll be 77 in January so I wonder how much longer I will be able to use a handgun as I really need a rest now. Hope everyone has a great get-together.

Tomorrow is the big day. I loaded 50 rounds for my 22 Nosler M48 this morning. I have 223 for the Contender, and 6.5CM for the second M48 loaded in the Jeep.
I wish that my XP100 in 22LR was finished, and ready to shoot.
