Tasco Pro Class 4X30 EER Pistol Scope - 07/19/2009 1:56 AM

I found a Tasco Pro Class 4X30 EER Pistol Scope target dot with AO at the gun show. I picked it up to put on my 22 hornet. Its my understanding that the pro class came from tascos custom shop. Any thoughts I just wondered if any one has had experince with this scope.

I had a 4x Tasco pistol scope on a stainless super blackhawk in 44 and it blew on the second cylinder, it went completely black.

The Tasco scopes with the 30mm tube are a couple notches above the Jap crap they later turned out. I don't think you will have any problems with it even on something bigger than your 22H. Even the early (1990's) Tasco 1" variables are decent optics but towards the end of the Tasco run they did crank out some junk.

honestly I don't remember, it was about 9 years ago and I ordered it from Midway for about 70.00 and when it blew I called them and they said when I called to order it the rep should have warned me that it wouldn't stand up to the 44. I haven't had alot of Tasco products but what I can tell you aside from that one is I have a world class on an old a3-03 30-06ai sporter I have and so far it's ok although not near as clear as my leupy's, burris, bushnell or simmons scopes, and I had a world class plus on a 375 H&H rem classic for a while and it was very clear and it took the punishment so I guess what I'm getting at is with Tasco it's a crapshoot, you may come out great or you may end up hating them, I think on the 22 hornet your probably safe as long as the clarity and light gathering qualities are acceptable to you but honestly I wouldn't trust one on anything with much more recoil than that.

Yea I've had couple of junk tascos myself thats why I was asking about the pro class. I didn't pay much for it so if it falls apart I'm out 50 bucks. Most of my scopes are Lupys, Niks and Burris. I just didn't have the cash to put out yet. I was tired of shooting with those TC rifle sights. I was talking with a guy that shoots silhouette competion and he was telling me some of his buddys shoot that pro class scope in competion. Anyway just thought I'd ask. Thanks Chris,

I understand, I am a Leupold guy all the way and I just picked up a Ruger 77 MKII in 338 win and I couldn't justify spending the bucks on a VXIII right now so I went with a Nikon Buckmaster 3X9 the local store had on sale for 170.00 and I put a Simmons Aetec on my Contender 7-30 rifle barrel.

Back in the 90's Tasco made a 1.25 X 4 X 28 pistol scope that was outstanding and very reasonably priced. I owned several of them and never had a problem on big bore handguns. A friend of mine still has his on a 15 inch 308 Encore. Wish I could still find them like they used to be.

I've had a ProClass 2x for probably 20 years and have always been very impressed with it. IMHO, it is many steps above your typical Tasco crap, of which I've had many fail.

If it was 9yrs ago, it wasn't a ProClass. They were discontinued long before then. If it was a 1" tube, it wasn't a ProClass. All ProClass scopes are 30mm.

Yeah, my buddy let me borrow one of those from him once. The amount of ammo I went through trying to zero it before I figured out what the problem was would have bought two Tascos.
A toilet paper tube and two toothpicks would have been a better choice.

It did look nice, I don't think my buddy had shot it much.
I wonder why.
