my xp is done - 12/02/2010 5:15 AM

I finally got around to painting my xp-100. I am left handed so the stock that came with the gun wouldn't work without removing the thumb rest. A buddy talked me into putting it on the correct side of the gun. I wanted to wait on painting because the duracoat takes 4-6 weeks to fully cure and I wanted to be able to take it hunting during the fall. I decided to paint the barrel and action to make them more weather proof. Barrel is a 17" mcgowen. Chamber 6.5-284 .290 neck. I use Lapua brass H4350, 140 grain nosler accubonds at 2700 fps.

RR,

That's a good looking rig! What brake are you running on that barrel?

How does it like that Accubond load?

The brake was made by Eric Wallace, the guy who built the pistol. I'll get a picture of it when I get the chance. When I do my part the accubonds shoot between 1/2" and 3/4". Not too bad with the light weight barrel.

Eric is a real good gunsmith and a excellent LR shooter/hunter with both pistols and rifles.
