Hey strangers, I got a new toy. 8" Anaconda DTP. I've got a factory colt base, should this be scoped? Will it scratch up the top strap?

What is the difference between an Anaconda and a Python? One of the local gun shops in town has a barrel shroud for a Python. Think they want 25 for it.
