I see a lot of questions about "...what bullet should I use?" Here is the result of a .452, 300gr XTP out of my 45 Colt at 90 yards. If you look at the second picture, you can see the exit wound.

This what happens when you don't look away on the finishing shot, I had to take the picture before I handed him a towel. It just seemed like the propper thing to do at the time. No he is not trying to kill himself, he was laughing and gagging at the same time.

That's one nice buck Hammer! I never knew that a 45 colt could take a buck at that distance. What kind of handgun did you use?

Nice buck. I wouldn't of passed up a shot at him unless a bigger one was standing beside him.

Mike,

I used a standard Ruger Bisley Blackhawk wit a 7.5" barrel. My load is a 300gr XTP over 23.5gr of H110. This load is moving at 1325fps through my chronograph. It is much flatter shooting thenn people think, and is devistating on deer and black bears.

Reminds me of the time my brother-in-law popped a prairedog with his .357 mag. and his buddy was down wind of him and of course he got sprayed with entrails,he was not a happy camper!
