I know this is a handgun site, but........does anyone know who makes custom barrels for the Thompson Center TCR 87. I want a set of barrels in 7x57 and 9.3x62. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does thompson center still make them?

T/C dose not make them now but SSK does; but they are not cheap. I'm sure some of the other after market custom barrel makers can make them as well. I've seen the SSK and they are very well made as would be expected from SSK.

Well, I contacted SSK, and they said no way. Apparently the rear block is too hard to make and not worth their effort.

A friend of mine DID get a barrel from SSK but it was 8 or 10 years ago. You could try MGM, they make a lot of T/C stuff.

I will give it a try, but from what I am learning about the TCR. The block that is the chamber area and the lugs for the stock are very hard to make and T/C was the only one making them. In addition, T/C sold a bunch TCR barrels to companies like SSK for customizing. After the fire, T/C's supply ran out, and that was the end of custom barrels for the TCR.

That makes sense, I thought they made the complete barrel. I see some at area gun shows, but they are not cheap either.
