I purchased some time last year but never mounted the scope until a few days ago...Funny how busy family life is around here.

Anyway, standard fare...Blued Single Six in 17HMR with a Simmons 4x32 Handgun Scope with the appropriate eye relief. The mount is a Weigand Combat Handguns Inc. mount for the Ruger Single Six. Looks good and is solid...

I would like to become proficient enough with this handgun to take it out sniping for squirrels. It'd be difficult to hit a moving one with the 4x scope but if one remains still for a few seconds, it will be mine...Hopefully.

Let me know what kind of groups you get I have been wanting to do a simalar gun in an old Bisley 22-I have a S&W 17 that shoots very good so I am not quite sure what the ruger might do scoped

Nice looking rig

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Nice rig. I had a Bisley S-Six with a similar setup. Wish I still did.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I had a Single Six in 22 with a Leupold 2x that was bad ju-ju for squirrels.

That's a sweet little gun. I have access to one that is truly a joy to shoot.

Great rig! I dont have alot of experience with the 17s. I have a Buckmark thats great and I have heard good things about the 17HMR. Let us know what kind of groups you get out of it. I may pick one of those up.

do you have access to a chrono,I'd like to know what speeds are coming out of handgun length barrels/true speeds as opposed to advertised ones.

Years ago I had a single-six in 22LR/MAG... unfortunately I traded it in about 15 years ago. Fortunately, I bought another today in 22LR/MAG! Happy camper! Traded in my Kel-Tec PF-9 & Crickett 22 MAG. Looking forward to getting it sighted in & hunting Coyotes. Thanks for the motivation.
