Bought a new set of LEE 45 ACP dies -----I was using them for the first time and needed to adjust the decap pin--so I went to loosen it and it was so tight I almost could not get it loose --when it did finally come loose it galled the threads.. So I sent a email to the Info address—no response—Call them today---OH yes sir we will replace it at no charge—however the postage to get it there is almost as much as the die---
I have purchased 2 handles for my Lee hand primer because it is just easier to spend $2 and buy a new one rather than send the old one back
I have had dealings with RCBS also and it is pretty much always the same answer when something like this happens—What is your address?? –a new one is on the way
As much as I like the LEE stuff the customer service stinks—
It all boils down to customer service—if you are easy to work with and have good customer service—most people will always come back and may even pay a little more for your product.
Just a note: probably have 25 sets of LEE dies and 10 or so RCBS—think it will be all RCBS from here on out.
If anyone knows the folks a LEE please give them my feedback

I've pretty much gone to Hornady, Redding and RCBS. I still have LEE dies and they work great and they are great value especially for those starting out but there is something to be said about the addage "you get what you pay for"

I have been using Lee dies for decades and am satisfied with them. I have two Lee Pro-1000 progressive presses and they are not worth the money. Timing, priming and parts breakage are constant problems. Caveat Emptor. I am going to replace them with one Dillon.

I have had good luck with Lee dies, but if a company does not stand behind their product, I don't buy from them.

I have 1 set of Hornady dies and 1 set of Redding dies, all my others, 13 sets are RCBS. They do stand behind their products. I had one set 30/30 Lee dies that I gave away. They didn't size the brass all the way. They were given to me so it was no big deal.

When I was stationed in Northern Califorina I lived 2 hours from Oroville where RCBS and Huntington's are located. I went to the factory a few times. Once a gentleman gave me a unoffical tour since they weren't allowed. Huntington' is a great store with everything that RCBS manufactures.

I sent photos of the damaged die to them today--got a reply that a new die was in the mail

Thats the way it should be.I've had good results with a couple of problems with Lee and they corrected the problem without me paying a dime.

I've used Lee for many years, with many sets of dies, etc., and never had a problem that wasn't promptly and courteously resolved by them. I also have many sets of Pacific ( early Hornady ), Bonanza, RCBS, Hornady, and Redding. Never had any problems with their service either.

Lee has not been my first choice but on the dies I do own they have always done the job quite nicely. I really don't know why but I have always leaned towards Redding 1st, RCBS 2nd and Lee 3rd.
