Has anyone used the "One Hole Sight " and if so whats your take on it versus the Ruger factory sight?

I've had and have them on several revolvers and I love them. They allow me to get on target nearly as quick as a dot sight. You really need the proper front sight to get the most out of them, either a fiber optic or gold dot or shotgun bead work best to center in the aperture. I use the larger hole (9/32") the most as it is quicker on target and doesn't block as much view. Your eye instinctively centers the front sight. It's a little harder to center a camera ;-)
Rod, too.

I use the larger sight on my 6.5 inch single six. I have won several cases of beer by hitting a deck of cards off hand at 80 yards with that setup. I have also lost a couple of cases of beer on the same bet, but i wouldn't have attempted with the factory sight. I agree that a fiber optic front helps get the most out of the one hole, i had a green fiber sight and the small one hole on a .41 SBH that just moved to my buddy's safe. He's had a crush on that setup for about 3 years and i have a severe single shot pistol addiction. All in all these sights are worth every penny.

Im thinking about it for my SBHH. The pic above is my Bisley SBH Hunter 41. The front sight is easily changed. Marble's makes the fiber optic that you see. I find that green is the best all-around color.
Rod, too.

I just wonder how accurate those sights are at 50 yards or more.

Who makes that one hole sight? The best sight I ever used on a handgun was the post with gold bead with vee notch rear that I had on a Ruger Redhawk I once owned.

I just wonder how accurate those sights are at 50 yards or more. It depends on the size of the target, the size of the front sight, and your gun's potential. I use an 8" shoot-n-c @ 75 yards to zero and the fiber optic front just about fills it up so I halo the the target circle around the front, I can maintain a <2" group with the 41. If you have a smaller front bead you can use a smaller target, and the smaller aperture to dial in even tighter. The reason I use them is to get on target quicker, notsomuch for bullseye matches, but I think they would do well there also.
Rod, too.

Is it easy to change out the front and rear sight or do I have to see a gunsmith?

All you need are a couple of screwdrivers, one real small one to turn out the rear sight adjustment screw and to push in the plunger that releases the front sight.

Where would I get the gold dot front blade ? Those can be hard to come by. Ruger used to market them, and sold them for the GP-100 but they fit the Hunters and SRH's as well. They dropped them a couple years ago. Try E-Bites or WTB's on the Ruger Forums.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into it. I didn't know that Ruger had dropped the post/vee notch sight from their inventory.
