I bought a Ultra Dot Pan A V and put it on my 30.30 Tender , LOVE IT. Now Im looking at a Ultra Dot for my Ruger 44 mag. Im on the fence though, match dot or another Pan A V.

My question is which do you guys prefer tube or reflex and why?

I can only speak to the Tube type and I can say I liked mine that I had on handguns and I like the one on my tactical AK47. The other type I believe would be nice because it's less weight and it seems like they would have a little faster target aquisition and they seem to be of a simpler design than the tubes but really I think you'll be fine with either.

I have used, abused, and been downright mean to an Ultradot 30 for four years and it simply will not quit despite my neglect. I like the tube type red dots more than the reflex types. I think they are more durable not just from a recoil standoint, but also with regards to their external construction. I don't think a reflexive sight would have survived a couple of the tumbles out of tree stands my Ultradot 30 was subjected to. JMHO.

The reflex is not recoil friendly. Some will shear mount bolts, others just break.
I just can't tell you the limits for the Pan AV. Some reflex are tough, others not so. If it works with a 30-30, it should be fine on a .44.
