Got a new barrel for my buckmark and put a 6x rifle scope on it. Probably gonna have to switch out to a variable scope as 6x little too much when them squirrels try hiding close. 4 greys and 2 reds so far and only been a week!! Great shooting and carrying

That is nice! Is that a tactical solutions barrel?
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

As you have shown us the Buckmark is an excellent .22.......

Ok, not a buckmark, but this is what I use to chase squirrl. Found it for 200 bucks. .17hmr with 8 inch barrel. Has the nice 'ribber' grips to tame that awsome .17 recoil. I know there are a bunch of big game hunters here, but do many of you also hunt squirrl with hand guns? I find it great fun, and good practice. DB

Big game seasons here in Alaska are fairly short so I intend to get to chasing rabbits & grouse with the Baretta Neos or Ruger MK II soon!

Unfortunately our squirrels are little "spruce squirrels" (like pine squirrels) with very little mat & a decidedly sptuce needle flavor. I know no one who eats them. I miss the big gray squirrels we had in my part of Oregon when I was growing up. I think those things hunted house cats at night!

We are blessed with a wealth of large fox squirrels here in Michigan. Also grays and reds but plenty of big fox squirrels. I like to use my scoped Ruger MKII but at times I also use my Colt Officers Model revolver in 22LR. Open sights make it very challenging. Hunting squirrels and rabbits with my handguns ranks right up there with deer hunting with my vintage Ruger 3 screw,(unmodified)BH 41 Mag and Ruger SBH Hunter 41Mag.

I just picked up a Buckmark Varmint .22 in a trade, beautiful gun. It has a nice 10 bull bbl and is quite accurate, I used it once in IHMSA. I didn't know that I could change barrels easily. Soooo, what is the procedure and where is good a source to buy new barrels (and what is the average cost?). As you can guess I don't have a manual and I'm just learning this firearm. I've always owned Ruger's before this little beauty.
Thanks so much!

barrels are cheapest straight from browning. You can get manual online at browning i beleive. Pretty easy to change barrel. Theres the bolt that goes into front of trigger and the part over top of slide to remove
