Has anyone seen a .223 chamber adapter to .22 LR? I am looking to buy one. I know they use to make them I had one but let it go with my last 223 contender barrel. Now I have a new .223 barrel and want to get me a new one. They work by turning the switch on the hammer to rim fire.
Thanks so much for your help.

That was my company, MCA Sports. It was named Sports Specialties before I bought the company. I owned it for 8 years until I sold it to Ace Dube in AK. I may have a few adapters left. They work fantastic. I used a 32 H&R Mag / .30-06 adapter in Africa to take a bunch of small critters. I used the 22lr in .223 all the time, that was our best seller.

Send me a PM as I'm out for this evening and gone fishing tomorrow.

Do you still have the Manufaturing rights and the TDP (Tech Data Package)(Drawings)

I could make a few

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I do have all the drawings and my 5 year non-compete is up. I've been thinking of opening it up again. We had contracts with Cabela's and that is what gave the business it's real value (just before I sold it!).

H2Obug,

I just found a few of the 7.62x39 adapters for the .308. These were patterned after the Italian conversions of the 30-06 to .308. I'll be fitting it in my encore tonight. I reload 7.62 x 39 with .308 bullets anyway, but even with the .311 we never had any pressure issues, in fact we fitted a FAL with them and adjusted the gas fitting, it fired full auto!

Cheaper than Dirt and Sportsmans guide have ones designed to shoot .22 cal pellets with just the primer. but you can make one of those pretty easy. Just size the neck to be a snug fit for the pellet and seat the pellet where you want it and peen the side of the case with a center punch just below the bottom of the pellet to keep it from going into the case (one or two spots is enough). They are supposed to work slick and even cheaper than 22 ammo. Oh almost forgot they reamed the the primer pocket take a 209 primer.

Hi Wapitirod,

We made those too. I have a bunch that slip into my adapter. The plastic skirt gas seal pellets shoot much better then the standard lead .22 pellets. With magnum primers the skirts blow off the lead.

saying that about the primer pocket. they used to make 45lc with the primer pocket reamed out to take 209s and used wax bullets to shoot inside with. I had 6 but can't find them now but it was fun. when i ran out of there bullets I just took a sheet of wax and pushed the shell in. I like to use them to teach kids to shoot also by putting up balloons for them to pop. great fun. wish I could make more of them. just don't know how to ream out the primer pocket.

a simple way that should work fine is find a drill bit the same diameter as the 209 primer and just drill out the primer pocket and then the lip of the 209 primer will keep it from going to far in and just rest against the back of the case head.

Yup, we made a bunch of 45LC with offset chambers for a 22 shot cartridge or blank. Guys used the with the blanks for fast draw and for snakes with the shot cartridge.
