I am sure it will make a gorgeous full body mount!

I will definitely share photos of the mount with you when it is completed. I am thinking about a pose similar to this:

I love it! I prefer when they are not in a standing pose which seems quite popular.

Darrel H,
that would look great. It looks like your bear had an extremely nice coat for an old boar.I have seen many pictures of brown bears that their hide looks pretty beat up

Darrell, I have both a black bear and a brown bear mounted in a fashion very similar to the example you've shown. I think that one foot on a rock, and one paw raised, with a slight turn of the head, as shown, is the best universal mount for a bear.

That is a great story and photos and an awesome bear!! You need to send this in to a magazine and have it published.

This is the kind of hunt that I dream of doing someday, hopefully I will get to before I die.

Awesome Darrell! Looks great...

You shoulda dragged him into the Game lands and filmed some hunters reaction as they came up on him...Maybe hide him in a laurel thicket

Beautiful mount, Darrell! Don't listen to Dur; it'll end up full of holes!

Landrum, David Harper (Harper's Taxidermy) mounted it for me. It's good to have a skilled taxidermist in the family!

I've got two deer on the wall right here that David Harper did for me. Actually, one was for my grandfather way back in 1964. That must have been around the time Harper was starting. I also have two nice largemouths on the wall from Harper's shop.

Cool!
