Most guys would give "precious" parts of their anatomy to have anything that would group like that. Having a Kirby built XP of my own, I know what they are capable of...he's an awesome craftsman!! You know the mantra....practice, practice....that thing will print 1/4 MOA I'm sure!!

Is there an adress for the Kirby XP-100? I've got some XP's sitting around I'd like to do something with.

Heres Kirbys email. Its about the only way to get hold of him
allenmagnum@gmail.com .I know right now he is about 18 months out.

Another smith that has built a couple of guns for me Chuck at Macs gun in Gillette WY. Does a great job he built me a 6x284 and a 243AI. His number is 307-689-2796.

These are the only two I have delt with. Both are great guys and can build some shooters.

Ernie Biship (xphunter) is the one who would know more smiths.

i don't think the extreme accuracy comes cheap, does it?....er how many thousand does it take to make an xp BR enhanced? very nice stuff, but i'm not sure i wanna put that much in mine....sometime er other....maybe.

i'd like to group my 6br encore and 6x47 contender at 200 sometime. should do under 1/2 moa, if 100yrd is an indicator. although high x riflescopes would help some.

Kirby is not cheap and its where you want to stop.

My guns chuck done for me wernt that bad. The accuracy on them are alot better than what I can shoot or what most average shooters can shoot.

Rifle scopes do make a big difference on seeing what your going to hit. The guns still got to be capable.

The main thing I noticed on custom guns. No so much the 100 yds Im average shooter. But when you start streching it out it is easier. (makes you look like you know what your are doing)

I don't remember the exact amount I have in the WSM XP-100 that Kirby built but it's somewhere in the $1700 range. Pretty sure that includes the Burris scope and HS Precision stock.

Not to highjack....but here's a pic of what a precision built XP-100 is capable of in the right (or left in Ernie's case)

hand. This buck was taken at 1037yds in 2009 by Ernie (I spotted) with my Allen Precision Shooting (that's Kirby's company name) XP-100.

Thanks for the info bfr4570. I've got a friend that lives in Buffalo, WY and works in Gillette; might make for a nice visit.

Chuck's builds are just as accurate as the ones Kirby has built me.
Both are great guys!

Steve Roe with Apache Machine and Custom in N Wilkesboro, NC would be another to consider - he's done work for several members on this site. Outstanding work, reasonable prices, and produces guns that will flat out shoot!

My 6.5x284 XP is currently in line to be worked on - he's creating a sibling for the rifle he built me last year!
