I just purchased a used 44 Encore stainless and wanted to know what would be the best rings and scope to put on it without breaking the bank.I bought it for $330 which seemed like a good price and will be using it for deer hunting.

Thanks, Tim

I use MGM steel bases and Leupold rings on all mine with the exception of my SSK 35 Whelen Encore and it wears a T'SOB setup and the 209x50 pistol barrel has the Redfield base and three ring setup. NO problems with any of them. As for scopes I have 3
Bushnell 2x6 Trophy scopes .41 mag. 30-30A.I. 209x50 , 1 Bushnell 3200 Elite on the Whelen and a 2.5x8 Weaver on a 243 bl. All have given me great service. I like the eye relief that the Bushnell scopes have. The Weaver is a little more critical in the higher magnification but nothing to complain about.

my .02

Warne base and rings would work great. Bushnell, Burris, Nikon, and Weaver all make great handgun scopes. All should hold up to any 44 mag load you'd shoot through your gun.

I have been using Weaver bases and Leupold Rifleman rings on T/C's since day one and they would be plenty good for your 44. Save your money for glass. As far as scope you need to ask yourself how far you are going to shoot that 44. I like a red dot on 100 yards guns, a 2x or a 4x fixed or a 1.5-4x or 2-6x variable scope should be sufficient.

Rod, too.

I have and use Leopold DD base and rings and Weaver base with Burris Zee rings. I really like the Zee rings! Whatever route you take consider "High" rings. You dont have to worry about sticking yout thumb underneath the scope and pulling the hammer back!!!

ditto on weaver bases and burris zee rings, good looking and never had a problem on contender 44, 7tcu, 30/30, plus have used on a number of rifles.
