I just received my new SBH Hunter in 45 Colt. I need links to good custom grip companies. Hogue only has the SBH model and says it leaves a .25" gap behind the trigger guard. Does anyone know of a company that makes grips for the Hunter model? Please post here. Thanks - Gary(fanner50)

I read somewhere that John Linebaughs son is making some nice grips and here are some companys in my 2001 handguns book- altamont custom grips, eagle grips, lett custom grips, and united states fire-arms grips. you might also check the midway and brownells catalogs.

Found what I was looking for. Jim Badger - Badger custom grips. I just spoke with him and he is a man you would want to do business with. Great looking product and a willingness to help. Will back his work. I ordered a set in rosewood. His phone 1-716-434-8562 or on the internet.

You might also look at SK Custom grips. He refinishes and makes custom grips. He refinished the Ruger grips on my Mag Na Port custom Blackhawk. They look great.

I cocur with JD. Scott Kolar did a refinish job on a set of Ruger SBH grips that were the worse he ever saw(me too for that matter). They turned out great. I also have a set from Badger made from rosewood that are beautiful. There is a small space on the grip where it doesn't quit blend with the backstrap, but it doesn't affect handling. These are for the SBH Hunter I have. You can also try [url=http://www.herrettstocks.com Try that. Good luck in your search.

Try Eagle Grips. I have used them a few times and have been very happy.

Hamilton Bowen uses Roy Fishpaw grips and from what I have seen he makes great stuff.

I have 2 sets from Cary at clccustomgrips.com,1 for a Clements Custom SBH SW 500-1.4" case and 1 on my SBH 41 mag Hunter, they are VERY nice grips and will handle plenty of recoil with no problems.
