Goin after whitetails this weekend with the ML pistol I got a couple months ago.

It will be skinheads only for me. We are only allowed 1 buck per year in MN, and the Encore got that done.

Really exited to use the "captian hook" gun!(as named by my 4 year old)

She shoots good. Minute of paper plate out to 40 offhand.(havn't benched it yet) Plan to be shooting offhand anyway, or with an improvised rest. Will be traveling light with nothing but my cloths, and a gun on the hip.

way too cool, I have been Jonesing on an encore barrel when i have a TC patriot that somehow I forgot was a single shot blackpowder firearm as specified by the NYSDEC for our season. What are you using for propellent and projectile and what caliber? mine is 45 and all that I have ever used eas FFFg

I too was looking for an encore barrel to chop when I bought this little gem from one of our board members.

The truth is that this is actually a very practical and functional hunting tool.

I'm using 50 grains of pyrodex loose powder under a 50cal sabot shooting a 240grn 45cal xtp. I don't know how fast its going, but I know its enough to be deadly within my self imposed range of about 50yrds.

It's a 1 in 20 twist, so its perfect for conicals, and the set trigger is amazing. I have not measured it, but the pull would be measured in ounces rather than pounds.

The sights are functional, and the trigger helps the accuracy.

It does kick pretty good, but not horrible. It's very fun to shoot.
