I do. I've killed several hogs, a couple nice bucks, and bucket loads of squirrels with the short guns. 50 yards Under the tree I was in close. 95 yards.

lol, I see shorties and I think anything under 14 in... muwahahahaha...
I love my 4 5/8ths SBH in 44 Mag! It is a constant companion. It has also been my repugnance with loads. After a LOT of work, I finely got it down 1.5 -2 in groups at 25 yards. (All of my others will literally stack at 25...)

My 4 3/4" .500WE was up first at bat this year in the revolver rotation - however, the whitetail doe that fell victim is not nearly as impressive as the bucks and moose pictured above!

bmbailes, it was a 50 yard frontal shot with a Remington 210 grain JSP factory load. There was no exit but the bullet was lost.

I have been successful with my p90,glock 22,and s&w 19. These were used on deer, hogs and squirrels. I much prefer 6"-7 1/2" barrels in my normal hunting adventures. I mostly use the short guns when scouting.

I almost forgot about this "long range quarry" I killed with my shorty .500: a horned doe antelope. They are relatively uncommon, and to spot one in a herd and then concentrate on getting a clean shot can be a real challenge, often times even more challenging than picking out the largest buck. They also make a neat mount. Hunting this doe is shown in my video.

I'm a shorty fan for sure. Now its just a question as to whether or not I jump up to a rifle cartridged handgun to chase the western critters.
Gregg, I really like the pedestal you used on the horned doe. That's really sharp.

heck yeah it is!! how much did that dude weigh!! That boar was close to 300lb. That was one of those exciting hunts that happened so fast during a snow storm. Used a 280gr SWC-GC that were made by an old expert from PA. He made some beautiful cast bullets...

I use a 4 3/4" FA 83 in 44 mag.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
