How do you guys do it? I have seperated my brass in lots of 50 by manufacture..although some are only 20 or so....how do you guys keep up with your brass? Do you mix brands to make up 50 round lots? What about brass from the range or odd numbers of cases? Just trying to develop a.system.

since I'm not shooting benchrest I'm not as anal as many. I just sort by brand and I have one of those shelf systems with the bins that are about 4x4x12 and I just fill them up and mark them and I take out what I need as I need it.

So what do u do after u have shot the brass...put it back in the bin and not worry or track it so u know how many times its been shot?

Honestly I'm very bad about keeping track of the number of times I've reloaded brass. I used to be better because when I had more time I would have every piece of brass I owned loaded so it was simple but since then I've kind of slacked off. I just keep an eye on the condition of the brass and I keep it cleaned a trimmed. I've never noticed any adverse problems with accuracy as I have 475 brass with over 10 full house loadings on them and they shoot to the same point as new brass. In fact the older brass has finally flattened the rims to where some of them don't fit in the case holders anymore with out some trimming. I just look for cracks and defects and I check the primer pockets. I know I'm a slacker

I'm a little better than Rod

but not as anal as a BR shooter. I keep mine in ammo boxes and track the use on a label inside the lid...what gun it is for, number of times loaded, trimmed and load data. My revolver ammo is in 100rd boxes, small rifle is in 100rd boxes and large rifle is in 50 or 100rd boxes. Some guns that I hardly shoot just have the ammo in 20rd factory boxes that are labeled appropriately.

It is all boxed according to manufacturer.

As for case life, I let the necks and primer pockets determine that. If the pockets start to get loose than that lot of cases to relegated to plinker loads or completely retired.

i keep my brass in plastic containers. any kind of used stuff can work. newer type coffee cans....plastic. old baby wipe boxes....etc etc etc.

i use 2 for each caliber. one marked "fired" and the other with cases that are either new, or tumbled clean and ready to size n load. this will keep a rotation, so you know they are fired the same number of times.
i do not mix brands. it doesn't matter to me much WHICH brand for a cartridge(rem,win fed etc.), but all the same.

I'll be honest,I don't sort my brass.

I'm all for systems. If I am loading different weight bullets I will sort by headstamp so I can ID them. Win=250 XTP. Rem=300 XTP, etc.
