Has anyone here put a red dot or scope of any sort on a short revolver....4". I am pondering a 4" Redhawk or 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk. I have missed several opportunities in low light this season because of not being able to see my sights. (I actually left my NM Vaquero at home because of this and took my 3" SP101) Even with the disadvatage of crude fixed sights on the SP, I still took two nice whitetail with it. (yes it is leagal for the 3" 357 in TN) I don't like the idea of having a hog leg length gun for now, because it would stay in the closet most of the year and lose its tan. I like to use one all year..hence the shorter barrel. Any input and ESPECIALLY photos would be helpful! Thanks in advance. I am excited to be a part of this forum! Hammeredbean

I've got a S&W M66 .357 with a 4" barrel, B-Square mount, Weaver rings, and a 2x20 scope. The B-Square mount was an easy install by removing the factory rear sight and utilizing the existing threaded holes.

The few times I've had it in the deer stand with me I never got the opportunity for a shot, unfortunately.

You can put one of these on most anything.

Rod, too.

Thanks so far for the replies! That 5" Super Redhawk is EXACTLY like something I have pondered. I like the quick on-off scope system and the look of a SRH....but the 7 1/2" barrel is too long. What you have there is my definition of the perfect rig. Your barrel looks like a new target barrel.

That is a sweet set up. I wonder if you could shorte.n that base even with the top strap. One of these days I want to get some american holly wiod and try to make me some grips that look like those.

It is aluminum so you could easily shorten it. It doesn't bother me, and allows me to mount a regular scope if I choose. It actually helps hold it in the holster:

Check out "Edge Custom", they make a mount that just comes to the end of the top strap.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Also consider a HighViz fiber optic front sight for extending your time. They absorb ambient light very well.
