How much more powder would that case hold over a 30 carbine??

30 carbine with a 110Gr Spire point or a 125 BT might do pretty good under 150 yds

Could do that in a 12" barrel too

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

444 trimmed to 1.4 and necked down. I can't find any other info on it with the exception of other people asking about it and not getting answers.

What are the restrictions in IL? Is it case length? Does it have to be a "factory" chambering? Is there a min or max bore size or barrel length?

Rod, too.

at least 30cal, 1.4"case length, 500ftlb, factory loaded so they can find info on internet. You Can also use straight wall. I would like to stay with rimless and bottle neck.

I know 300/221, 300 blackout will work. But I have a 7mmbr xp for donar. Wrong bolt and want to get all the ump I can.

So, the bolt face is one of the determining factors...

The "factory" restriction really screws it up.

The only data I have found for the Contender is 28 grains of Reloader 7 and a 125 NBT. This is the "factory" load from CNC Cartridge, at about 2300 fps.

I'd have to ask Mike, we talked about it a while back but he's loaded me with so much info my brain locked up.

The 30 Bellm is really close to a 30BR that the benchrest guys are using for score shooting. I would look at those loads and work up from there.

I thought that Illinois had a limit on the case length. The br cases is 1.5xx and the limit is 1.4.
