I need a good holster for the Hunter. I would like to get one for scoped and one for iron sights.

Pistol Packaging always comes up in this discussion. Supposed to be good though I have no personal experience.

The pistol packaging is a good holster if you're ok with a bandolier style rig. The nice thing about that one is that you can swap out the part that holds the gun scoped or not scoped.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Just bought a guides choice holster for SBHH. Company out of Alaska. For iron sights I don't think you can find a better one. They have a very good web site and their holsters are custom made for your exact make and model of gun.

Stoney is the diamond system interchangeable from one holster to the next? I was just wondering if you could save money once you have the strap system and change out the holster like you can on the pistol packaging.

I have posted a pic of holster from the website on the Bragging Board as I have not figured out how to post a pic on a thread yet. When I do I will put a better pic of holster with my .44 Mag. Hunter.

I really like the looks of that. How does that work in conjunction with binoculars? I currently prefer to use a Badlands binocular harness.

This holster is very easy to take off and on and can be worn on either shoulder. (You really have to see video demonstration) It was designed to wear with binoculars or backpacks. Just loosen and reposition so gun is more toward the right or left and re-tighten.

How well does it hold onto to your pistol? I know it has a retention screw, but wasn't sure how secure it was. Great looking holster.

Your pistol ain't going nowhere till your ready to use it. This was the best money I have spent in a long time. Had my initials put on shoulder strap and looks very cool. Just remember it's custom made just for your make and model of gun and is for iron sights only.

Take that back, you CAN order one custom made for scoped guns. Site will ask when ordering what brand and model of scope you have.

I spoke with one of the customer reps with Diamond D Leather. They do the holsters with scopes, but they want me to send in the gun. Has anyone every sent their handgun off for something like this? Just put the Leupold 2.5x8 on it today. Ready to shoot an exotic with it.

They can't do it from a tracing and some measurements?

I am not sure what their process is, but my Diamond D holster is PERFECTLY molded to my gun.I don't see how they could come up with a similar product without having the exact gun and scope combo on hand.

When I was at the SCI Convention I visited with Bob Baker at the Freedom Arms booth and was very impressed with the shoulder holster they sell for a FA scoped 83. I am sure it would work pretty darn good for a scoped SBH, also. Very nice leather and great quality. Give Bob a call.

Here is mine. It is the 7X Leather chest holster system. No need to send the gun for a perfect fit to your SBHH.
Mister, why do you carry a 45? "Because Sam Colt don't make a 46."

WY Combo Holster is super easy to take on and off and is no prob using binos or a pack. With my day pack on I carry it around my waste. The big strap with the snaps makes it....well.... a snap! When carrying it over the shoulder one extra snap for the belt is all you have to fool with.
See my above link for a bunch of pics. Since taking those pics in my kitchen I've used it in the field and it just plane works.

This holster is very easy to take off and on and can be worn on either shoulder. (You really have to see video demonstration) It was designed to wear with binoculars or backpacks. Just loosen and reposition so gun is more toward the right or left and re-tighten. This is not really true and the video is a little deceptive... Because there is a yoke in the back that attaches the torso strap to the shoulder strap. This yoke needs to be centered on your spine in order for it to be most comfortable. Had it not been true, I would not of posted it. This forum is for sharing GOOD information. I have this holster and have worn it. Had I not worn it, I wouldn't have had the information to share.

I'm very sorry, I did not mean to offend you. I edited my post because I did not mean to include all the helpful info that you posted in your post with my quote. When I re-read it I realized that I had made a mistake and it sounded terrible. Your reply to me was quite civil considering...Thank you.
The intent of my post was to just point out the lack of a moveable yoke. This yoke really needs to be able to move in order to relocate the harness attatchment point back to the center of your spine after you reposition the holster.
