Here is the 500 with the Ebony grips. I also haven't painted the Leupold yet because I'm not sure if it will be what's stays on there or not.

that does look good and they made a big difference. i think i'd just use a matte black scope, so it would remain stock for future gun changes etc.

Rod, I said PLEASE don't! Look great, I'll also vote for the matte black scope.

YES! But like others have said, black scope.

Or, that painted red dot you had on it looked great.

Rod, too.

LOL, yep it wouldn't surprise me if my daughter gets to that point.

I would have thrown a matte scope on it but I'm fresh out, I have this Leupold, a gloss Weaver and a matte Millet red dot which I thought about but the adjustment screws seem kind of chincy and after what it did to the Bushnell I'm a little snake bit. I figure I'll see if the Leupold holds up which it should but if not I know Leupold will take care of it. The only thing that had me concerned about Bushnell is they had me send a check for 10.00 for return shipping and they said if it's not under warranty they will call me with cost of repairs or replacement and those things have never been an issue with Leupold. I broke my RB800's and it was my fault and I told Leupold that and they replaced them with no questions asked. I'm hoping Bushnell will do the same but I don't know if I'd put it back on the 500 or not. It did hold up on my BFR which was much more violent but I don't know.

when out and shot her today, all 5 touching at 25 and pretty close at 50 which for me aint bad. I'm in the kill zone at 100 so it's good to go. I'm definitely not the shot I used to be. I've noticed ever since my last wrist surgery when they took out the bone and nerve bundle that I have issues with tremors in my hand and the more I shoot the worst it gets. I only notice it real bad with heavy kickers so I don't know if it's related or not. They checked me for parkinsons when it first started but they said I was clean so the only other thing I can think that could have possibly caused tremors might be all the narcotics they've run through me over past 7 years.

It seems like popular opinion is for a black scope. I'll probably just Cerakote the one I have rather than buy another one so do you guys think I should do it in black or in camo like the red dot that broke. I probably won't do anything on it until this summer assuming I'm caught up with my work enough to mess with it plus I still have the elk ag damage hunt that goes until the end of March and I may use the 500. The only bad thing is the 500 is sighted in with CP 435gr WFNGC so I'll have to listen to the hardcast guys give me crap for using a hc since I'm a proponent of jacketed bullets although I really have nothing against the hc's. I can hear Whitworth now, "I told you so".

I think straight black. It will really set off those grips.

Well I'm all out of 900grain bullets so I have to use the light stuff. I only have it running about 1300fps so it may be under powered.

UPDATE: As I had mentioned I blew up the Bushnell Trophy Red Dot that had survived several other hard hitting big bores. I sent the sight in about 3 weeks ago and today I recieved a brand new one. I would rate their service as good but not great. I may be spoiled from years of dealing with Leupold but on warranties with Bushnell you have to send a check for 10.00 for return shipping and then I received a confirmation note from them about a week later. Turn around time was fair, I didn't care much for having to pay shipping but in the end I did get a new sight. I'm thinking I may put it back on the 500 and see if it will hold up.

Yep, too slow, you need 2.3 fps more!
\:D

If you want to see something, shoot a gallon jug of water at 100 yards once.
I will caution you if you shoot a deer with it. Never shoot one facing you. I use a hard 440 gr in the JRH. I fooled a deer I spotted looking at me at 100+ yards in the thick to walk to me. I hit her in the neck at 30 yards. I ruined the neck, one shoulder, blew the lungs, liver, stomach and half the guts before boolit exit. I opened her to find green soup!
Would you REALLY use an expanding bullet?
You are doing good and just don't know the power you have yet.
