Does the scope mount for a Burris 3x12 come with it or do I need to buy the rings and mount together? Also do you use the posi-lock or something else? I know when I get the scope (ordered it) probably most my questions will be answered. Thanks for the help again.

you'll need to buy the mount(base and rings) separate. my burris scopes(7 er so) do not have the posi lock.

You probably know this already, but you aren't limited to using the Burris bases & rings on your gun(not that there's anything wrong with them, just a little pricey). I don't know what gun you have, but on the Contenders, it's hard to beat a plain old Weaver base, & just about every company(including Burris) makes rings that fit Weaver bases. I would think you would need "high" rings with that scope, but that's just a guess.

good point vance. i like the weaver base and it's a good one even though they are inexpensive.
the leupold vertical split rings are about $12 at walmart here. they are also very nice for the price.
so.........for about $20 total, you could mount her up.......or you could even buy 2 sets of rings to set it up with a 3 ring mount. that is what i did on the 300 wm.
and before i forget.........the 3x12 burris clears just fine with medium height rings

Man Kyode, you hurt me brother!! I wish we had somewhere we could get ANY rings for $12.00. The last set I bought were normal Weavers, & they set me back about $25.00. They did have some mighty cheap looking rings I MIGHT put on a kids .22 rifle from a maker I've never heard of for just under $20.00. Unfortunately it's a 150 mile each way drive to a Sportsman't Warehouse. The prices there aren't quite as good as down in the lower 48, but better than local.

On my Encore, I use and really like the Burris dual dovetail mount and rings. Give them a look-see, you won't be disapointed. They are easy to install and stay installed. They are only for two ring set-ups, but when the pistol doesn't recoil real bad, they are the best I've tried, oh yeah, get the signature rings, they have a polymer insert that alows the scope to center itself and not bind-up on the rings. You want to protect that precious Burris rig you bought, do it with Burris signature rings.
