Thinking about getting a 1" UltraDot for my Ruger SBH Hunter. Will the standard ring spacing on the SBH Hunter allow for mounting a 1" UltraDot? I would rather not have to buy an extension ring...

The standard ring spacing will work for the standard UltraDots with just the single dot size. The MatchDots or multi reticles won't fit.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I have an Ultradot 6 on my Bisley Hunter and I mounted it with a Weigand base.

Whitworth is one of the ones that steered me towards the UltraDot.
Yes, if you get the MatchDot you need the Weigan base.
It really is a nice setup, although I ain't killed nothing with mine yet.

Let me know how that works out, I've done it a little and I know of some guys in the state that get their cats every year but I haven't invested the time. I'm thinking of getting serious about it if I can get the time and come spring bear season I'm going to try calling since my spot and stalk around here hasn't worked out to well. I'm cursed when it comes to cats, I've missed three and one twice when it tried to ambush me when I followed up after the shot.

The Ultradots are plenty accurate...it's me that isn't.
I haven't shot it enough to be impressive with it.
I can hit a snuff can at 50yds, I'm still working on shooting farther.
I'm a bowhunter at heart so a 50yd shot is fine by me.
My Contender/Encores all wear scopes so they are my long range guns.
This is the only wheelgun I have that has optics on it, the rest are open sights.

The cats are driving me nuts, if it was easy everybody would be doing it I guess.
I've had my Foxpro going and I've found their tracks inside of my tracks when I walked out...I just haven't seen those sneaky critters.
Saturday morning at 0640 I was setting up close to an old logging road where I've seen their tracks. Wouldn't you know it, 3 guys came jogging down the road.
0640 in the morning, 23 degrees when I left the truck, Saturday morning 3 guys are jogging down an old logging road???!!!!
I just don't understand some people!
