While at the SCI Convention one of the booths I spent some time at was Thompson Center Arms, and I spoke with Mr. Karl Ricker, New Product Development Manager, who has been with T/C for 22 years.

I explained that I have heard some grumblings here and there about some of the Contender and Encore products being unavailable.

Mr. Ricker reassured me that the problem is only temporary due to the "Big Move," and that T/C would be back on line shortly; if not by now. I also learned that Mr. Ernie French is back again with T/C as a consultant; that alone is wonderful news.

Browsing through the 2012 T/C catalog backs up what I was told by Mr. Ricker; certainly great news for T/C handgunners.

Thats good to hear! I've been a little worried about them dropping the Encore/G2 line with their recent "ventures".

well that's good to hear, I know there is another company looking at a platform that would except T/C barrels but not sure where it's at.

Thank you for the clarification. I heard all kinds of stories regarding the dropping of the G2's. They fill a great niche. I like the Encore but the Contender sized frame is handy and has taken much of the game I hunt.

I called T/C last week and was told that the custom shop was closed for good, anyone else hear that. That would be a shame if it's true.

That's good news! I was at SHOT and I didn't see any frames or barrels for a handgun in the whole booth.

MGM I think is still around making barrels for TC. But haven't check on them resently.

I doubt it would ever happen but since they are doing bolt action rifles now, it would be nice to see them do a bolt action handgun. Their new Dimension rifle allows you to change rounds by switching out the barrel/bolt/mag. Its available in left hand actions too. That might be a nice long range handgun set-up!

Not a bad idea! You can e-mail Mr. Karl Rikker here:

kricker@tcarms.com

Again, his title is:

"New Product Development Manager"

He would be the one to ask.

If you do, let us know what you find out!
