Now what, i go to the gun shop and the pistol i been eyeing up for 4 months or longer is gone! The dealer says a guy came in 2 hours before me and plopped down cash. Ok i got time, order one up and do a price check so theres no suprizes. He makes 4 different calls, all backordered for a year to a year and a half! Then he starteds pointing out the taurus with the mag cylinder, uh no. Going to look into the Buckmark line, then the Hunter six. Loved the Mark III Hunter but it was so heavy, alot of stainless steel, hang a scope on it and you need a shooting stick to hold it up. Lesson learned, don't buy guns around. tax return time.

Tax Time --- yup ---- or buy them quickly. Walked in Eddie's yesterday to pick up my FA that was shipped to him. Noticed that his gun display counters were almost empty. He told me that the guns were going out faster than he could get them in. He cashes tax checks & sells them guns. The welfare provisions of the tax law (earned income credit, additional child credit, etc.) are good for the gun business -- at least for his.

One thing struck me as stange. He has a really nice 6" S&W 686 in the display case. It has been there for months. Everything around it sells, and it is still there. IMHO, it is one of the best or the best used one that he has (it and a Redhawk with a scope on it). However, differences of opinion exist and most want semiautos. I presume that these are "too big" for many people.

It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

The one i was looking at was 375.00 plus mn sales tax. 495.00 plus 25.00 shipping is way out there and i won't buy a gun i can't lay my hands on first. I'm gonna call Excelarms and see whats up. Small company just starting out, can't keep up with demand or such.
