I just finished reading an article by John Taffin that caused me to think. Which of your calibers (regardless of how many handguns or revolvers in that caliber that you own), do you shoot the most?

I would expect that the 22 will be the most popular, but I am curious. In my own situation, I shoot a 22 very seldom. I shoot a 32 (327 mag) much more. But the one that I use the most is the 41 mag. I very seldom shoot a 38 or 357 even though I own several. The next most used by me is probably a 44 mag. And then it goes up. LOL The 41 & 44s are my "plinkers." I enjoy shooting them just for the fun of it.

Let me hear from you.

It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

Mine is a Ruger 22/45.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

For me right now it is my Taurus 1911 loaded with Oregon Trail bullets and 231. Still working with my new Super Blackhawk Hunter. I'm really close to having a 225 gr load for jack rabbits.

The 45LC, followed by various 22's and my GeeP in 357.

I just love shootin' the 45, perhaps because of the platform and it is pretty cheap to load for, but it is my goto for a reason.

Rod, too.

My Kimber 1911 .22 conversion kit on a Springfield Armory GI .45 sees around 3000 rounds per year. It has improved my .45 scores.

I've got close to a 5 gallon pail of .44 mag brass saved up verses a gallon of .38/.357/.45acp. Got to get setup for reloading soon. Throw a little .22lr in there for good measure.

For me it's a toss-up between .22 and .40 s&w. Work says the 40, so I shoot it a chuck to stay on top of my game. The 22 when its for fun and for the cheap. Can afford to shoot it everyday for teh most part.

As far as the guns go, glock 35 or 27. Colt Diamondback 6", Colt walther 1911 in 22, Walther p22 with my girls, 13, 11, 9 and 5. Usually tie that in with a S$W MP22 AR in 22 that I can't keep the mags loaded for. I will try to get some pics posted of the brass makers having at it.

I agree, plus my Custom Ruger .44 mag; both get the nod.

And thanks for the kind words, Rod. I found a speedloader for it that makes it a real fun toy.

I've stayed out of this because I don't really own what I would call a "plinker." Basically, I plink with all of my revolvers save for one.....

Ruger SN47 Old Model (unmodified) shooting Herter's .44 Spl brass with a 235 CSWC (Lyman 429421) of straight linotype ahead of 5.0 grains of Unique. Accurate, fun, manageable, and was good enough to shoot half the tail off a running ground squirrel at 50 yards. That SOB really grabbed high gear after that.

Since I'm mainly a bolt action handgunner I do most of my plinking with a Striker Model 501 .22LR.

I got too many but for straight plinking my Henry Golden Boy. I do also enjoy my 44 spcl but most of the loads for it are 255gr HC's so I don't waste alot of ammo. I just stopped short of converting a nice ss 357 Blackhawk but haven't played with it much yet, but it is the tightest factory Ruger I've ever owned. My most prominent plinker now though is my Glock 22 in 40S&W. I used to plink with my big bores but not so much since my wrist self destructed and had to be rebuilt.

Self destructed....really?? Fell apart all by themselves, huh? That would seem to indicate that you did nothing to further their "falling apart"......hhmmm.

My M-57 4" 41 is one of my favorites. I shot about 75 rounds yesterday from my 629-5 5" 44 mag and about 40 rounds from my 1911 45 ACP

One has to shoot guns with a bit of recoil to remain good with them

Well, I have to be honest here... I only have a 380 P238 at the moment. HAD a 460 smith and wesson a couple years back, and "plinked" with the 45 colts in it. But I just LOVE hearing the big bang even with hearing protection, and feeling the percussion that thing gives off when the 460's are in it. No other feeling like it in the world! Just gotta love those big bores.

Next gun will be, as you know, a 460 S&W, and I WILL NOT let it go again. When I make that purchase in the near future, I am also thinking of throwing in a browning buckmark. Had one of those at one point, and it is probably the most accurate gun out to 50 yards that I ever owned, including rifles.
