This is the best place for us new guys to go! So much great info and so many helpful people...I'd be lost on my own.
The God who gave us such a beautiful land, wonderful game, and the sport of hunting is worth knowing.

I think that it is AWESOME to see a lot of new folks joining this forum, It's great to see this challenging sport grow. Let me tell you, it is great. Back in the early years there were times when there were days between new topics here. Now we have a half dozen forums with new stuff every hour of every day.

This is an awesome site. I first found it about 5 years ago. At times I would look every day when I wasn't busy. Just started looking again a month or so ago with this smart phone I recently bought. Much better than the dial up internet we used to have. Most of handguns I have are from the things I have read here. Last spring I took a Jake turkey at 18 yards with my contender with a 12 inch 45LC/.410 ga. Using Winchester 3 inch #4 shot. It can be done. In the fall of 2010 I took a black bear at about 30 yards with an encore with a 15 inch 460 S&W magnum. That was a thrill! Mostly because of all the information I found here. Thanks all.

I wouldn't of been able to go to Africa without all of the information, knowledge and valuable input from the members of this site. And I am talking about EVERYTHING, from the guns, calibers, bullets, outfitters, gun permits, hunting techniques and trophy selection. I wouldn't have got to meet Mark Hampton and Gregg Richter. I could go on and on.... Welcome new members and Thanks to Gary and the moderators that continue making this site a success.
Don't confuse shooting with hunting. Shooting is a game, hunting is a sport.

I hear a preacher put it succinctly one time about the congregation. He said you are either growing or you are dying… I am glad your sport is growing.

I remember back when they first passed legal handgun hunting in Ohio. I was so excited as I have pretty much always favored the stort gun. Its nice to have a site dedicated to it. Thanks Gary and everyone else for their input.
