The old Lee one-at-a-time tool I used to reload my .45/70 with also comes in .44 mag. I have a house full of kids and no room to set up a bench, much less a re-loading / gun room. I could do this at the kitchen table at night after supper at my convenience. Except for maybe crimping heavier cast loads, is there a "Oh NO, Briar, bad idea!" side to this I don't know about? I have reloaded before, just not handgun cartridges with this set up. I know for some it is painfully slow, but for me slow is much more relaxing, and safer.

If it were supposed to be easy, they'd have sent my little sister to do it.

Really, I had one of these 30 years ago with my first 41 magnum. Seating primers with a hammer...just not too good. My ammo went bang, but never real accurate. (some of those primers went bang too..in my apartment)

If I was limited on space as you are, and needed a hand tool to load with, I would get a Lyman 310 tool. JMO.

Never used but might pick one up for working up loads at the range when I start reloading.

I bought a 45 when I first started reloading and burnt the crap out of my finger tips from primers going off so I'd suggest another option.

I have a primer tool from before, one of those that looks like the Starship Enterprise, with the disk on top and the squeeze handle. I do not hit primers with ball peen hammers.

I learned to reload with one in .38 Special and then a .45 a.c.p. I would seriously consider other options.

Get yourself a single stage press like a RCBS Rock chucker or the Lee. Mount in on a 1" thich piece of plywood and recess the the bolt heads slightly on the side that will be on your kitchen table. Then cover the bottom in felt and get your self a set of those Stanley wood clamps that have the rubber on the clamp portion or a good C clamp that has rubber on it. Lock it down to a table after the kids have gone to bed do your reloading then store it in a closet out of the way. Lee has a closed frame press that is not cast and is lighter but still strong.

It looks like the vote is unanimous for passing on the Lee Classic. I greatly appreciate the experience and advice you fellas offer, and will heed it. I'll be looking into some of these other options you suggest.

Many Thanks.
