If you could influence your favorite firearm manufacturer to produce your dream gun, what would it be? What configuration? Caliber, grip, finish, barrel length, etc.?
I am going to start this one with a Ruger Bisley in .480 Ruger - 5-shot, with a 5 1/2-inch barrel, both stainless and blued, with their Rosewood laminate grips.
That is my first one.
You?

A good single stack 1911 in .40 S&W at a reasonable price.

I could go with that.........but I would prefer a 6 1/2 inch barrel in stainless

FA single shot in 338-06.

That one sounds awesome Whit! I would love to get my hands on as well… With the love affair I already have with my TC’s I am going to list a Contender and Encore. 1, G2 SS 14in chambered in 375 Win OR 357 Max. Burris High Zee rings and a 3200 Bushnell 2-6 and Georgia Jim wood. Kind of like this… 2, SS Pro Hunter 15in chambered in 338 Fed OR 308 Win. Burris High Zee rings and a 3200 Bushnell 2-6 or Nikon 2.5-8 and Georgia Jim wood. Kind of like this…

If I could have one it would be a 5.5" Bisley 5 shot 480 from Ruger...exactly the one Whit mentioned.
But to be different, I will mention my "other" dream gun, also from Ruger. I want a combination Redhawk/Super Redhawk. I want the grip "post" and lock work of the Super with a barrel and frame like the regular Redhawk. This is one of the guns that Bowen builds. Since we are dreaming, heck make it available in a 5 shot 480 too.

Start with a blue framed Bisely have it color case hardened, the caliber will would be 475 linebaugh 5 shot. Put a custom 5.5 inch dark blued barrel with the barrel band a high vis gold dot bead front sight. Nomad rear sight. And the cylinder blued to a dark shiny blue. Have Burrl Maple grips custom made for it and the hammer jelwed. Do an action job on it line bore the cylinder. Then come up with a name for it.
Oh wait, its no longer a dream, its actually being built by none other then our resident gunmaker. Now all I can do is dream about it until it gets into my hands.

I would like a modern day version of the LeMat revolver--one that would handle a pretty stoked up 44 or 45--maybe a 28Ga in the center. If we are wishin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeMat_Revolver
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Now that you mention that I have always thought the LeMatt was a great idea. I like the idea of 44mag, but would go with a 20 gauge.

I just took delivery of this Bisley in .45 Colt, and I wish this configuration was a regular production item and not a dealer exclusive. It has a 5 1/2-inch barrel and Rosewood (laminate) grips. Trigger's not even that bad.

Trigger's not even that bad. VERY nice gun Marko. That is the one we need with a 5 shot cylinder in 480, but 45 Colt ain't bad either. I wish those had fluted cylinders, or at least did not have the laser etching. Dan

Thanks! I prefer the unfluted cylinder, but can do without the lazer etching as well. I am working on a solution for that!

I have never heard of one of these, but it sounds sweet! As for me, I bought my dream revolver last year, my FA 454 casull with 7 1/2" barrel. BUT, the one thing I find myself wishing they made, but is not out there, is a Leupold scope in 1.5x-4x or 5x that is just as good or better than my Burris 1.5-4 but SHORTER. dang I wish they made one... not a gun, but I hope this counts!

The LeMAtt, was a civil war era Black Powder revolver that incorporated a BP shotgun barrel that sat sort of below and to the side of the main barrel. It was a deadly weapon. It is still made today by some of the italian makers.

They have conversions for some of those cap and ball guns. I wonder if a conversion would be possible on the LeMat? Even 44 Special would be awesome.

i have already purchased my dream firearm, a 7.5" octagon barreled 454 casull with 45 colt cylinder. that said, i would love 2 things, 1) a high quality lever action that we could get in 454, 480, 475, and the various 500 calibers. that would be great, that and i'd love to have a 480 ruger alaskan, and/or be able to find another couple 454 alaskans so my kiddos could each have one.

I gotta go with s4s4u's version in blue & stainless. Don't hold you're breath for Ruger to build them though, I have doubts that they ever will.

Didn't Ruger post the other day that they were 3-4 months behind on their production? Maybe after the election of a new POTUS( lets keep our fingers crossed) the gun buying craze settles back down to normal levels. Maybe then Ruger would entertain a one time production for a group buy of custom revolver.

Another revolver I would like to see manufactured would be an FA 83 in blued steel -- in all of the current caliber offerings. It would be gorgeous.
