This past fall Steve and I were doing some dogging with some 22's. My longest confirmed kill was 330 yards.
MOA Charger "clone" action (Not aluminum).
Goal was 500 yards but the winds got bad.
So far this is my longest 22lr kill.

MOA Clone Receiver - http://www.moaguns.com/rec10_22.html
Federal Gold Medal Match ammo.
Green Mountain Barrel-It out-shot both a Douglas and a Benchmark that was chambered with the same receiver in a bolted down fixture.
MOA's laminated stock.
Kidd trigger.
Sloped Pic Rail by MOA.
Leupold VX-3 LRT with Holland's ART Reticle.

I used the reticle, plus dialing to make the shot.

Ernie,

Nice long range shooting with the 22LR! What were wind conditions like that day at time of the 330 yarder? What kind of holdoff at that range?

Wow that's some shooting with a .22 LR. You never cease to amaze me with what you can and do do with a Speciality Pistol.

Larry,
Thank you!
Steve killed one right at the same distance as well with his rig.

I don't remember what the correction on the wind was at the moment. I should have kept better notes.
It takes a tremendous amount of drop at this distance and the 400-500 yard distances even more.

Ernie I just finished putting together a Custom Ruger Charger. The way I see it is I am going to be doing great if I can shoot a gopher or two at half the distance you and Steve shot the Prairie Dogs.

Ernie,

Thanks for the pic of the reticle. I always wondered how "busy" that one would look. Much nicer than the Horus, although from what I hear folks get used to the "busy". The distance in and of itself is imppressive, but if you had any wind at all, that is VERY impressive ;^)

And my guns and things are in the process of being moved, so my dog town is gonna have to wait a bit for me. Thanks for really driving me nuts....
