Well today I shot the 30-30 Contender. Scoped pistols are still new to me and the big guns still make me kind of nervous. I started with Managed Recoil ammo and worked up to full power. I was worried it would hurt and the muzzle blast kinda scares me. My husband used this gun on his antelope in 2010. I think I can practice with this gun a few rounds at a time. I enjoy shooting the .223 but need a bigger gun for Wyoming.

Have you thought of using snap-caps as well? They have helped me quite a bit... FWIW
